Would Bridget Jones Diary have been more or less funny if instead of beginning each entry with her weight and number of cigarettes smoked it had simply relayed how much water she had drank? Or would it have been more or less funny if she had spent the entire book simply discussing the habits of her cats? Hah! Forget it!
