I got a delivery from amazon.com today, comprised of CDs by Metric (Live it Out), Loretta Lynn (Van Lear Rose) and Willie Nelson (Crazy - Demo Sessions) and also Ubik by Phillip K. Dick. I’m usually at work when these things arrive. A few weeks ago, I happened to be home when one arrived. The UPS deliveryman rang my doorbell. I can’t buzz anyone in, so I leaned out my window (third floor) and shouted down “Who is it?”
He answered “UPS. Come down here.”
I said “What, how do you know it’s for me?”

The original director of War Games was Marty Brest, who would later direct Beverly Hills Cop and Scent of a Woman. Why was he taken off? Film geeks, step forward and illuminate.
- Eliza made me a mix of her favorite songs, at my request. [...]
