Today on the subway in, I saw people reading the following books:
- One Man’s Meat by E.B. White
- Baby Laughs by Jenny McCarthy (why?)
- V for Vendetta by Alan Moore/David Lloyd
- On the Road by Jack Kerouac
- Miles by Miles Davis
If I remember I’ll take more careful note tomorrow. I remember a few weeks ago, right after the last Harry Potter book came out, I saw FIVE different people reading that book on one subway car. Amazing.

That Miles book is great. Every page has at least one quotable line. Even if you don’t like jazz, it’s probably worth reading.
ON THE ROAD changed my life. Even though it’s a bit dated, I still love it and it’s spirit. Thank God it’s still getting read.
Because it was a gift from my 11-year-old daughter who I never see anymore now that Tess has full custody, and it reminds me of her gentle laughter when she used to watch TV in just the other room, that’s why, you insensitive prick.
What’s that last quote from?
I hope it’s from the new Harry Potter book! I’ll have to read them now!
There are a LOT of romance novels getting read on the train. Despite this, the subway remains a decidedly unsexy place. Maybe that’s just some people’s way of getting fired up for a full day of accounts receivable.
Bitchez best fo-get talkin’ ’bout Accountz Reeceevin’ like dat or y’all gonna have tha H-Dog up in yo’ shit. Word dat.
