This is one of my favorite sketches I’ve ever seen at UCBT, because it surprised me even though I’ve seen a million “bomb defusing” scenes/sketches before. We wanted to find a real warehouse to film in, but I couldn’t locate one with a location fee of under $400 — so we did this in the back hallways of the UCBT. Those hallways have been the subject of countless “let’s shoot this in ten minutes” videos but Mitch got it to look fantastic — like a “real” location. The fake blood that Nate was coated in is still on the wall, last I looked.

My 501 class was getting notes in that hallway after a class show. Anthony King was listing all the things we did wrong, then stopped mid-sentence as he noticed what appeared to be a lot of blood on one guy’s arm. He must have been leaning against that wall, but at first it seemed like he wasn’t taking the criticism too well and had cut himself.
