Indian Superman 2

This Bollywood movie snippet of a male Superman and female Spiderman fighting crime and dancing is a decently good time. It’s probably been seen a lot, but I only just discovered it via Vince here at work.

I’ve seen only a few Bollywood movies, yet I’ve never seen one that didn’t have a Thriller-like dance sequence.

My Driver’s License Got Suspended

I got a letter a few weeks ago informing me that my driver’s license has been suspended retroactively to last May. This is because after I junked my car last February I never turned in my license plates. They sat in a drawer in my kitchen (with my instruction manuals and take-out menus) for well over a year. I have a self-destructive resentment of a) mailing things and b) the government ordering me to do things. Well, I showed them!

I’m normally a responsible person: I pay my taxes and credit cards, I vote, I’ve never argued with police officers. But there’s something about the inconvenience of the Department of Motor Vehicles that makes me resent them. At least once a [...]

Transcript for my planned English classes

A class of Tokyo residents sits in front of the video monitor. Its members are eager to learn English. The monitor starts displaying a series of scenes, with the description of those scenes printed at the bottom of the screen in English. A pleasant-sounding narrator reads along with the captions. Some words are capitalized to signal to the students that they are significant.

Thank you, Dyna for the super-new headers! This blog is now randomly displayed in one of eight versions. Please, you bastards, collect them all!

Brewster's Millions

Is everyone else realizing today that they’re kinda broke? I had a dream I was watching Brewster’s Millions at the North Street Cinema in Danbury, Ct. Really awesome subconscious, Hines. Dreaming of watching a movie. How active! I should just drop my brain in a jar today.

Running errands on Fifth Avenue; “Sketch and Awe” tomorrow night

NBA Store
I need to buy a hand pump that I can use to inflate a basketball. Since I work in midtown, that means I might just walk one block north and buy it at the humongous Fifth Avenue NBA store. That’s sort of like going to the Wonka Factory to buy gum.

I need the pump for a sketch show happening tomorrow night at the UCBT at 8pm. It is called “Sketch & Awe.” It features sketches by myself, Joseph Wengert, Chris Kula, Shannon O’Neill, and Gavin Speiller. The cast is Charlie Sanders, Eric Scott, Bridie Harrington, Sarah Burns and Nate Shelkey. It’s a silly but responsible group of people. We wrote the shit [...]
