I totally and completely disagree with everything said in this article.
Whoever wrote it has obviously never heard their CD or listened to the
lyrics. HANSON HAS CREATED THE MOST AMAZING MUSIC EVER!!!!! It's feel good

talented and beautiful people and I feel that many people who bash them are

I personally have nothing against the band, I do think they have talent at
such a young age. But I also have to admitt that the song was overplayed
(like basically all songs are), and that it has SERIOUSLY gotten on my
nerves. It was okay at first, a little catchy mmmbop here and there didn't

Buenos dias,
I don't really understand the whole discussion. Yes, there's a song that
radio-stations do overplay but it's not that somebody puts a gun to your
head and forces you to listen to it. Hit the button if you feel your
lunch coming up your throat. None of the radio-stations that I can receive
around here play the kind of music that I like. All I can do is pile up a
ton of CD's and make my own radio-program on a local station. It's really
no use complaining how s***ty a song is. It's only a personal opinion
after all. And the music is only popular because a large group of people
buys the CD's and requests the song on the radio.
Actually, three times within 19 hours is not that bad. If you ever get
sick and you have to stay in bed, turn on the radio and listen to the same
station for the whole day. Then, you will see what it means to OVERPLAY a
song...
And also, just because a song only contains three chords and one drumline
doesn't mean that the music is no good. Just look at some of the stuff
that Green Day, Nirvana, The Offspring or the Smashing Pumpkins brought
out, especially the ba**-lines. It's really easy to play and I'm sure
every little kid could pick up on that stuff in no time. But that doesn't
mean that the musicians play simple music because they lack talent and
can't do better. What's wrong with simplicity?
Many of the songs in the Top40 were not written by the ones who sing them
and some of those stars don't even play any instruments themselves. As far
as I know, Hamson write their own material and they also perform it, with
'real' instruments. Being in a band at the age of 11 or 13 and making it
to the top of the charts is an accomplishment. Those guys are damn young
and they have a lot of time to work on their music and their skills.
The way they look and dress, that's their image and the American kids seem
to identify with it pretty well. Mission accomplished. But even if it
irritates you, what's the point in painting everything black? If you don't
like something, then do your own thing. Get your own band together, write
your own songs and play your own music. That seems to me like the
best thing to do. Being cynical is pretty senseless.

OK enough ragging on Hanson. So they might not be everybody's dream band, but
i'm sure they're doing something that most of you only dream of doing. I
personally don't like THE MUSIC that Hanson sings, but i have nothing against
3 teenage kids following their dreamsor for that matter just being alive. As
for the youngest one, sure his voice hasn't changed, but what is wrong with
that? I don't see why that has any relevance on the quality of the band.
Unfortuantely MTV, and radio stations do play the song way too much, but
there isn't much we can do about it now is there? I really don't see how on
earth making fun of 3 teenagers is going to help you get your point across.
At first I had respect for you and your opinions but now, I have lost all
respect for you when u totally trash something just because you do not like
it. Not only is that completely uncool, it is very similiar to the KKK or
the prejudice against religion ect. True these scenarios may not be as simple
as Hanson, but you have to accept that people are different and live with it.
Although I do not expect this to change many minds or to even change a few, I
hope you will all think hard about what you are saying. After all what kind
of message are we sending out to our generation if we hate people that aren't
exactly like us. Hmmm....reminds me of Hitler, or how about the KKK, maybe
even the Rosenburg trials.............

Yeah, it's cute that these 12 year-olds formed a band and came up with a
really nice song called MMMBOP. I am sure their parents would be proud.
You think their music sounds good, try going into a jazz club where you can
here musicans that have practiced their entire lives play for almost nothing.
ANY SINGLE MUSICIAN I KNOW COULD WRITE, PERFORM, AND SING THAT SONG AS GOOD
AS THEM. -----But they take pride in their music. They'd rather starve then
write some cheasy single. Those are the unregonized heroes of music that so
few have discovered. It's the sad crap like MMMBOP that just proves that jazz
musicians die without purpose of the majority.
Hate to tell it to you fans, but at least from a professional sense, MMMBOP
has about as much musical value as a soda can has on the street.
