DESCRIBING A PITCH
Two BROADCASTERS are describing a baseball game.
BRAODCASTER 1
Henders checks the runners, now goes into his windup...
BROADCASTER 2
And here's the pitch!
BROADCASTER 1
Strike! That looked like a low slider just catching the
bottom inside corner!
BROADCASTER 2
The extra sharp drop at the end tells me he probably had
separated his pinky from his other fingers more than usual while gripping the
ball.
BROADCASTER 1
Definitely. Also, the initial high lob tells us that he chose
a fairly overhanded arm angle to start with -- very dominating beginning.
BROADCASTER 2
I think I detected a pronounced left-to-right movement as the
ball crossed the plater -- means he got his legs into it.
BROADCASTER 1
The ball started rising again as it struck the catcher's
mitt, a sure sign that he flailed his fingertips upward on the release.
BROADCASTER 2
I'm guessing a circle-one grip here.
BROADCASTER 1
Yep, with tucked-in elbows to start.
BROADCASTER 2
Spun the ball to the right as he got halfway threw his windup.
BROADCASTER 1
An emphasized whip of the shoulders.
BROADCASTER 2
He let his knees shake.
BROADCASTER 1
Let his upper body come tumbling down forward over the trunk
of his legs.
BROADCASTER 2
His mighty, mighty legs.
BROADCASTER 1
Like two oaks. After the follow-through, he let his arms
dangle like a fallen soldier.
BROADCASTER 2
Or discharged genitalia.
BROADCASTER 1
That's exactly right, discharged genitalia. The pitcher was a
mighty warrior.
BROADCASTER 2
In the interest of full disclosure I'd like to report that I
have ejaculated.
BROADCASTER 1
I am so aroused that I have begun composing a letter to my
wife that I am leaving her for this pitch.
BROADCASTER 2
I have never loved so deeply as I do now.
BROADCASTER 1
The rest of the game has passed by and ended.
BROADCASTER 2
We must pack up our things and go.
BROADCASTER 1
The stadium is empty.
BROADCASTER 2
Good bye.
BROADCASTER 1
Good bye.
BROADCASTER 2
Winner: Royals.
