  Four of us worked for a publishing firm in a small cottage, a nice, tranquil setting in the woods. Jean was the Senior Editor and boss. Gailynn, Mary Ann, and I were Assistant Editors. Gailynn and I had worked there the longest; a year more than the others. I got along with everyone except Mary Ann. She bothered me and I wished she didn't work there, but I didn't hate her at first.

The final straw was the parking spot...
