Regarding I Hate Alanis Morissette

Great page, buddy. I hate Alanis just as much, and probably more, because I've lived near Ottawa all my life (Alanis' home town) and have had to put up with all her bullshit from dance queen to wannabe bitch. She disgusts me beyond words, and the frustrating part is that most of her millions of fans don't know about her "past life", and if they do, aren't intelligent enough to accept it maturely. Check out some of the other Anti-Alanis sites and look at the flame mail. THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS!

However, I was offended by what you said about everything from Canada being intensely boring (same article - ed.). Whether you mean socially, geographically, or musically, you can not possibly know what you are talking about since you do not live here. Musically, 90% of the music I listen to is Canadian, and I am very picky when it comes to music. In fact, I find American music on the whole simply nauseating, with the exception of the Black Crowes, STP, Alice In Chains, etc. I'm not trying to offend you here, so don't get upset.

Just a suggestion, but if you want to hear what is, in my opinion, the best music to come out of North America in a very long time, check out the CD's DIG, and SCENERY AND FISH by a band called I MOTHER EARTH. They're Canadian, and the best musicians I've ever heard.

Anyways, I'm rambling here, so I'll congratulate you once again on your page. Can't wait for Alanis' new album (if Glen Ballard can find time to write it for her). I'd pay big money to see her fail as the rocker bitch just like she did before. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Dave MacDonald

First of all, thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to write. Unfortunately, since December 1996, when the Alanis article was written, Spite editors have made two decisions: Alanis wasn't all THAT bad, and 2) Canadians are REALLY boring. It's a fact. Sorry. By the way, how can YOU know where I've lived, or live? -ed.
